OREGON CITY, Or. -- An Oregon City man who admitted to raping two children, sexually abusing a dog and possessing a huge trove of child pornography was sentenced Thursday in Clackamas County Circuit Court to 40 years in prison.

OREGON CITY, Or. -- Michael Alan Hayter emerged from the bushes next to a Gladstone bike path last August and robbed a man, stealing the victim’s wallet and phone.

OREGON CITY, Or. -- A 34-year-old man who shot and wounded two Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies in 2023 was sentenced to 30 years in prison Thursday.

Tyler James Scott pled guilty in Clackamas County Circuit Court last month to two counts of Attempted Murder in the First Degree. Burglary, theft, assault and other charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

OREGON CITY, Or. – A Clackamas County grand jury concluded that an Oregon City police officer was justified in using deadly force when she confronted at an armed man who shot at her last month.

The grand jury reviewed evidence and testimony from the May 16, 2025 incident involving Scott Alan Farmer.

Following deliberations on Thursday, June 26, the grand jurors voted and determined that the actions of Officer Sydney Oden were justified and lawful under Oregon law.

OREGON CITY, Or. – A Gresham man was sentenced to 80 months in prison Friday in Clackamas County Circuit Court for stabbing an elderly man three times after unsuccessfully trying to steal the victim’s Porsche.

Jesus Ascenio-Molina, 31, pleaded guilty to Robbery in the Second Degree and Assault in the Second Degree.

Molina approached the 86-year-old victim on December 27, 2024, as the man loaded groceries into his car at a Fred Meyer store, 8955 SE 82nd Avenue.

OREGON CITY, Or. – If you receive a call from someone claiming that you missed jury duty and are facing arrest or fines, you’re dealing with a scammer, said Clackamas County District Attorney John Wentworth.

The District Attorney’s Office has received several calls recently from people who have been targeted by scammers demanding personal information and payment of fees to avoid arrest, Wentworth said.

One District Attorney’s Office employee was a target of the scam and was told he had to pay $6,000 to avoid prosecution. “He sounded pretty convincing,” the employee said.
