A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) is funded by employer contributions only that can reimburse you for out-of-pocket health care costs incurred by you, your spouse and your qualified dependents.
HRA’s are tax free to the County and to you. There is no tax on the County’s contributions, on your account’s investment earnings or on the reimbursements you receive. Enrollment in the HRA VEBA program is automatic for all regular status benefit eligible employees.
Reimbursement is available for current or future expenses - unused funds carry over from year to year so the more you leave in your account, the greater the potential for higher investment earnings, and your account goes with you when you leave employment with Clackamas County.
Eligibility and funding methods depend on employee groups.
