Cessation Resources

Quitting smoking isn’t easy. Oregon has multiple quit lines, or free telephone and web-based counseling services, that community members can contact to feel more confident about quitting for good.

There are also free nationwide quit line services, including:

  • Asian Smokers’ Quit Line
    • Cantonese and Mandarin 1-800-838-8917
    • Korean 1-800-556-5564
    • Vietnamese 1-800-778-8440
  • Smokefree.gov
    A website with tools and tips to help individuals quit, including those who want to quit, recently quit, and/or want to maintain their smokefree lifestyle. This resource also has resources specific for veterans, women, teens, individuals 60+, and individuals who speak Spanish.
  • American Cancer Society
    Information on how to quit using tobacco, including making a plan to quit, quitting smoking or smokeless tobacco, nicotine replacement therapy, and more.
  • BecomeAnEx
    A free cessation resource run by Truth Initiative and the Mayo Clinic.
  • Truth Initiative – This is Quitting

  • Truth Initiative
    A nonprofit public health organization committed to making tobacco use and nicotine addiction a thing of the past, this website provides young people with the facts about smoking, vaping, nicotine and the tobacco industry, and more. 
  • Flavors Hook Oregon Kids
    A campaign that aims to protect children from the tobacco and vape industry.
  • The Real Cost
    A website with up-to-date information about the harmful effects of tobacco use, including vapes, cigarettes, dip, and other tobacco.
  • American Heart Association
    Includes fact sheets, public policy resources, and studies on the health effects of tobacco products.
  • Tobacco Education Resource Library
    A resource with content focused on public health education, smoking cessation, tobacco research, and more.
