Oregon's Elections Division and Clackamas County Elections are your official sources for trusted information about elections.  Please always use official sources to ensure you're getting information you can trust.

You may register to vote if you are: 
   ● An Oregon resident.
   ● A U.S. Citizen or will become one before Election Day. (See below.)
   ● At least 16 years of age.
If you are 16 years of age, you will not receive a ballot until an election occurs on or after your 18th birthday.

Please update your registration when you: 
  ● Move to another residence in Oregon or change your mailing address. 
  ● Change your name.  Please use a paper registration for a name change so we can obtain your new signature.
  ● Choose to change your party affiliation.

You may register at 16 years of age.  To be eligible for a ballot you must register 21 days before the election.  If you are registered by the deadline you will automatically begin receiving ballots when you turn 18 years old.

No.  You only need to update your registration if your residence or mailing address changes, your name or signature changes, or you choose to change your party affiliation.

No. If you are moving to Oregon you must register here.  If you are moving to another state you must cancel your Oregon Voter Registration and register in the new state.

When you register to vote or update your registration a Voter Notification Card will be mailed to you.  Please allow 4 weeks for delivery. This card is not required to vote.  If you have questions you may contact our office or view your registration information at My Vote.

No.  Ballots may not be forwarded or held by the USPS.  If undeliverable, they will be returned to our office. Please make sure your registration is up to date.  If you will be away during voting please contact our office for alternate options.

  ● To cancel your Oregon Voter Registration please complete, sign, and return a Clackamas County Voter Cancellation Request.  
  ● If you are moving out-of-state state and registering to vote in the new state please list your previous Oregon Registration information at that time.  The new state will notify us.  You may also complete the Clackamas County Registration Cancellation Request.

Local ballots are mailed 20 days before the election and will arrive in homes 15-20 days before.  If you have a hold or forward on your mail with the USPS the ballot will be returned to our office.  There are several options available to make sure you can still vote if you are prepared.  Please make sure you update your registration with the mailing address where are able to receive your ballot.  Please note:  Ballots mailed out of the country are mailed 45 days before the election and ballots mailed out of state are mailed 29 days before the election.  If you have questions please give us a call so we can help you make a plan to vote.

If you are serving in the Armed Forces, the Merchant Marine, or live outside of the United States, your ballot will be mailed to you 45 days prior to the election.
If you are not registered, you can register to vote and request a ballot be mailed to you by completing a Federal Post Card Application.
Military and overseas voters may also access their ballots through My Vote, and may choose to return their voted ballot by email.  When returning your ballot by email you must sign and enclose a secret ballot waiver form with your voted ballot.
