Main Street

The Oregon Main Street program is dedicated to rebuilding and revitalizing communities. The National Main Street Center coordinates the program. The Clackamas County Program is a locally-driven process following the Main Street Approach™. The approach is a practical and comprehensive model that capitalizes on the unique assets of each downtown. The goal is to build high quality, livable and sustainable communities in Clackamas County.

Meeting the needs of our communities

We work with communities to identify opportunities to strengthen downtowns throughout the county. One of these is 3D Downtowns, a design program that demonstrates how an area could look if redeveloped. The goals of 3D Downtowns are to:

  • spur private investment
  • increase property values
  • retain and recruit business
  • enhance the appearance of downtowns in Main Street commercial districts
