StoryWalk®

Kid on pathA StoryWalk® encourages young readers and their families to take a walk outside and read a book at the same time! Each sign has pages of the story, with fun activities to make you think and move along with the story - all presented in both English and Spanish! This season we feature the bilingual Spectacular Spots by Susan Stockdale. StoryWalk® is presented in partnership with the Friends of Gladstone Nature Park and the Gladstone Public Library Foundation.

The StoryWalk® project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. StoryWalks® have been installed in 50 states and 13 countries including Germany, Canada, England, Bermuda, Russia, Malaysia, Pakistan and South Korea. June 1–Aug. 31

Read, renew, repeat at Clackamas County Libraries this summer! Registration opens on Saturday, June 1.

Who can participate?

The summer reading challenge is open to kids and teens ages 0-18.

What is the challenge?

We’re challenging kids and teens to read for 30 days this summer! This includes listening to audiobooks, reading comics and graphic novels, or being read to.

How do I sign up?

Register in-person at the libraries to receive your reading log and pick up your starter prizes! Register on or after June 1.

What are the prizes?

Kids and teens receive a free book of their choice, a pin button, and a $5 library fine voucher just for signing up! Participants can bring in their reading log after every 10 days of reading to choose another button. Upon completion, finishers receive an additional free book, $5 library fine voucher, and assorted local passes (while supplies last).

Completed logs can be returned starting on July 1. Logs must be returned by Aug. 31 to enter the Grand Prize Drawing. Selected winners will receive their choice of a $20 gift card to either Spoke and Word Books or Comics Adventure!
