Hot temperatures today

As high temperatures hit our region, Clackamas County has identified multiple cooling centers around the county. People who need to cool off are encouraged to visit a cooling center to avoid the heat. You can find a list of cooling centers at www.clackamas.us/socialservices/reliefcenters.html

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued an air quality advisory today for the Portland and Vancouver metro area due to elevated levels of ozone pollution, or smog. DEQ expects ozone pollution to reach levels this afternoon that could be unhealthy for sensitive groups, including children, elderly people, pregnant women and people with medical conditions. Health officials recommend that sensitive groups limit outdoor activity when pollution levels are high.

Please be aware that a High Fire Danger Level has been issued by Oregon Department of Forestry for the North Cascade Fire Protection District, including Clackamas County parks and forestlands.

  • Campfires and warming fires restricted to fire rings only. The maximum fire height is not to exceed 12” above grate.
  • Community or large gathering fire pits prohibited.
  • Cooking fires with charcoal and portable cooking stoves using bottled fuels are allowed.
