North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) invites residents to participate in the naming process for the community center and new park set to open in Oak Grove in the fall of 2025.
The community center, formerly Concord Elementary School, is undergoing modest renovations. As part of Phase 1 improvements, the facility will undergo essential safety and ADA upgrades, including a new roof, HVAC system, and accessible entryway and elevator. The new adjoining park and playground will provide opportunities for inclusive recreation and connections to nature. Park amenities will feature a nature-based playground, a multi-use playfield, picnic areas, walking paths, benches, a plaza for programming and an interactive splash pad.
The naming initiative will officially combine both the park and community center under a single campus name. Please note that this process does not include the naming of the new Oak Lodge Library.
How to Submit a Name
To submit a name for consideration, complete the short online entry form — including your suggested name, your reason for the name and your contact information. The entry form takes less than five minutes. Submissions must be received by 5 p.m. on May 9. Print forms are also available in person at Milwaukie Community Center (5440 S.E. Kellogg Creek Dr., Milwaukie, OR 97222). Entries should reflect the values of our community, celebrate our county's rich heritage, culture, natural resources and inspire a sense of inclusivity and togetherness. The contest is open to North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District residents of all ages.
Once submissions are collected, a designated naming committee will review the entries and develop a written recommendation for approval by the NCPRD Board of Directors.
