OREGON CITY, Or. -- Danielle Jannel Johnson, 29, and four other individuals were indicted in Clackamas County Circuit Court last year for thefts from Ross, TJ Maxx and Home Goods stores in Clackamas County. The four co-defendants have been arraigned.

Johnson pleaded guilty to three counts of Theft in the First Degree and one count of Identity Theft. Other charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Johnson or one of her alleged accomplices would steal items then fraudulently return them for store credit. Johnson would then purchase items with the store credit and a small amount of cash then return those items for cash.

Johnson was easily identified from store surveillance video because she has a distinct tattoo on her collar bone and often wore the same clothing during store visits

Johnson also was found with the identification of 14 unrelated individuals and had used some of the credit cards to make fraudulent purchases.

Johnson has several prior convictions for forgery, theft and identity theft in Clackamas and Washington counties over the past eight years. She currently is serving a sentence at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.

The District Attorney’s Office acknowledges and commends the efforts of Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Det. Mike Zacher and TJX’s Organized Retail Crime National Task Force, which serves the affected retailers. The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Ben Klassen.
