Voter turnout hits 30.15% for the May 21, 2024 Primary Election

Ballots continue to be received, processed, and counted.

Election workers retrieve ballots from an official ballot drop site on Election Day.Oregon City, OR – As of Wednesday afternoon, May 22 voter turnout hit 30.15% for the May 21, 2024 Primary Election.  Clackamas County voters turned out to vote in large numbers on Election Day.  Clackamas County Elections received more than 40,000 ballots on Election Day alone, and as many as half of them after 5 p.m. from Official Ballot Drop Sites. 

Approximately 10,000 ballots received after 5 p.m. on Election Day and 4,400 on-time ballots received from USPS today have not yet been included in the current voter turnout number of 94,278. To-date Clackamas County Elections has tallied 65,252 ballots, and these are part of the most recent unofficial election results released at 4:30 p.m today.   

Unofficial election results and the election results release schedule are posted online at clackamas.us/elections/may-21-2024-primary-election. Unofficial election results were released today, May 22 and will be again tomorrow, May 23 at 5 p.m. 

Clerk Catherine McMullen has a full team of sworn election staff working through the week until all ballots have been processed and tallied. Final official results will be certified June 14.
