Milwaukie, OR – The month of March is the Milwaukie Community Center’s annual “March for Meals” fundraising campaign for Meals on Wheels, and we’re asking the community to donate funds to help feed homebound seniors.

Meals on Wheels, a program where volunteers deliver meals to older adults and people with disabilities, provides nearly 75,000 meals annually. Join North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District, which operates the Meals on Wheels program, and the Milwaukie Community Center Foundation, in this month-long campaign to ensure that no senior goes hungry. Your donations make a profound difference.

Each dollar raised during this campaign supports the daily operations of the Milwaukie Community Center’s Nutrition Program (Meals on Wheels). Each meals costs $6 to produce, $3 of which is reimbursed through federal funds. The annual March for Meals drive is a crucial fundraising tool to support the program’s success.

Here is what you can do to support Meals on Wheels. All donations are tax-deductible (Tax ID #93-0797550).

  • Donate online at www.ncprd.com/march-for-meals
  • Donate in person at the front desk of the Milwaukie Community Center at 5440 S.E. Kellogg Creek Dr., Milwaukie, OR 97222
  • Write a check to MCCF – Meals on Wheels, and send it to 5440 S.E. Kellogg Creek Dr., Milwaukie, OR 97222

Become a volunteer!

Just as critical as the funding of the program, are the dedicated volunteers who cook, serve and deliver the meals. New volunteers are always needed and appreciated – whether they are available daily, weekly or just for special fundraisers and events. Nutrition Program volunteer positions range from delivery drivers to kitchen helpers to dining room servers. For more information on becoming a volunteer, please contact the Meals on Wheels office at 503-794-8035.
