Clackamas County Assessor Bronson Rueda will hold his office’s annual Property Tax Town Hall from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1. All interested residents are encouraged to watch online, either live or in the days after, when the event will be posted to the county’s YouTube page.
Last week, the Assessment and Taxation Department released its annual Property Tax Information report, which details key property tax information changes (real market value, rate/district changes, bond effects, etc.) for 2023-24. Residents are encouraged to look over this document ahead of time, as well as their individual property tax statements, which are currently being mailed. All statements will be mailed no later than Oct. 25.
The purpose of the Town Hall is for residents to gain a better understanding of their property taxes and have confidence in the tax system, and for our experts to answer any questions the public may have about values, property taxes or the tax process.
At the event, Assessor Rueda will open with comments and a presentation about this year’s values and property taxes. That will be followed by an open forum where residents are encouraged to ask general or specific questions. However, the public is advised that the event will be recorded, therefore all questions will be archived in the recording and posted later. Private information should not be shared.
Residents who do not want to share their information publicly, or have property tax questions but cannot virtually attend the event, are strongly encouraged to contact an Assessment and Taxation appraiser. Residents can do so by calling the main office line at 503-655-8671 or by sending an email to propertytaxinfo@clackamas.us. Please note that office hours are Monday thru Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Property tax payments are due Nov. 15, 2023. The state of Oregon establishes property tax deadlines and requires interest to be charged for delinquent amounts.
