North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) will host the second annual Fiesta Latina en el Parque event to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
The only event of its kind in north Clackamas County, Fiesta Latina en el Parque takes place from noon to 4 p.m. on Sept. 23 at North Clackamas Park in Milwaukie, 5440 SE Kellogg Creek Drive.
Community members are invited to attend this free, family-friendly event to learn about cultural traditions through food, live music, arts, crafts, and kids’ activities. The event, which drew more than 800 community members last year, will include an even greater variety of food and artisan vendors this year.
The entertainment lineup includes musical and dance performances by La Consentida Banda Estrella De Oro, Mariachi Mexico En La Piel, MB Peru Baila Asi, and Ollin Yolliztli PDX.
Local artisan vendors will feature a mix of authentic, unique crafts, jewelry, clothing and accessories, handcrafted artwork and ceramics. Kid’s activities will include culturally enriching crafts, games, activities, free face painting and a magic show.
“This event brings residents together to celebrate the diverse cultural heritage of the Latin community,” said NCPRD Director Michael Bork. “We’re grateful for the community’s support of this event, and the desire to create connection through rich traditions and performance art.”
This event is sponsored by Univision, Milwaukie Community Center Foundation and Clackamas County. Learn more at ncprd.com/fiesta.
