In the next couple of weeks there are lots of ways for people to learn about possible projects to increase safe walk/bike opportunities and comment on what projects they would like see in the future.
- In person, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 12 at North Clackamas Park, 5440 SE Kellogg Creek Dr., Milwaukie – then stay to see Top Gun: Maverick, the NCPRD Movies in the Park presentation
- In person, Tuesday-Saturday, Aug. 15-19 at the Clackamas County Fair in Canby
- Online, starting Aug. 16
The Walk Bike Clackamas project team, along with an advisory committee of community members and technical specialists, has developed a list of projects and programs that could improve pedestrian and bicycling opportunities throughout unincorporated Clackamas County in coming years.
The public is invited to come to one or more of the events listed above to more about those projects and programs, and how they were chosen, and let the county know what’s most important to them and their family.
The final report from the Walk Bike Clackamas County project, scheduled to be completed this winter, will include:
- Policy priorities related to biking and walking;
- A prioritized list of construction projects to make biking and walking safer and more accessible throughout unincorporated Clackamas County;
- A list of potential program investments to:
- increase access to pedestrian and bicycle facilities and
- encourage more people to walk and bike;
- Performance measures to track progress toward plan implementation.
