County programs help older Americans “Age My Way”

Clackamas County representatives will visit the Canby Adult Center on Wednesday, May 18 at 1 p.m. to share information about volunteer opportunities that help older county residents remain in their homes and active in their communities.

May is Older Americans Month. The 2022 theme is “Age My Way,” focusing on how older adults can stay in their homes, live independently, and be involved in their communities as long as possible. All these things contribute to better physical and mental well-being.

Volunteering is one great way to be involved in the community while helping others live independently.

Clackamas County’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program helps individuals age 55 plus contribute their experience, time and compassion to programs that offer other seniors companionship, transportation, money management help, and many other services.
