Clackamas County Public Health is required by the State of Oregon to license and regularly inspect restaurants, food carts, lodging, pool and spa establishment and temporary events. Taxes do not support this work, and Environmental Health Services is required to cover these costs through adequate license fees. The new fee schedule will help support the important work of keeping owners, operators, workers and the public safe.

Why is this happening now?

For the last decade, license fees in Clackamas County have undergone only minor adjustments. A cumulative shortfall resulted in the need for this year’s correction. On April 19, 2023, the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners approved a revised 2024 Environmental Health Fee Schedule. The new fee schedule will result in more direct services to the facilities and operators we license, enhance safety and ensure the county fully meets state statutory requirements.

What does this mean for me?

  • Your license renewal is due date and the fee payment process is not changing
  • License fees are due Dec. 31, 2023
  • A late License Reinstatement Fee of $100 per month is applied every 30 days starting Jan. 15, 2024
