Do you like live music? Bring the entire family and join us for Milwaukie Porchfest on Friday, July 19 at the Kellogg Creek Water Resource Recovery Facility from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. African marimba band, Danda, will perform in Milwaukie Bay Park just below the Kellogg Creek facility. Enjoy refreshments alongside Milwaukie community members; you won’t want to miss this 9-member band playing uplifting dance music with their own acoustic handmade instruments!

About Danda:

For nearly 25 years, the African marimba band Danda has been delighting audiences performing music from Zimbabwe. The band performs on handmade acoustic instruments crafted from padouk wood ranging in size from a small soprano to an impressive 8-foot-long bass marimba. Along with traditional Zimbabwean and Mbira style music, the band also performs arrangements of American favorites. Under the direction of Mylinda King, Danda presents uplifting and dance evoking music that is fun for all ages.

About Milwaukie Porchfest:

Porchfest is a free festival of performances on porches, driveways and public spaces across Milwaukie. People are encouraged to walk or bike in their neighborhoods, meet their neighbors, and share their talents with the community. All performers are volunteers! Artists are encouraged to share their Cashapp or Venmo handles (or an old-fashioned tip jar) to receive gratuity and are also invited to sell music and merch at their events.

Clackamas Water Environment Services (WES) is proud to sponsor this event.
