2025 Housing Waitlist

Date
Main Content

The Housing Authority of Clackamas County (HACC) will open its project-based voucher waitlist for affordable housing from Monday, July 28 at 8 a.m. until Thursday, July 31 at 5 p.m.

All interested individuals that meet low-income criteria are encouraged to apply. HACC will draw from this pool of applicants for years for future affordable housing opportunities. The last time HACC opened its housing waitlist was 2020.

Project-based vouchers, a form of Housing Choice Vouchers, provide rent assistance that is tied to a specific apartment. Rent assistance is dedicated to the unit households are selected for - families cannot use the rent assistance at a separate location.

Where to apply

All applications must be submitted through our online Rent Café website (link to come on July 28).

HACC will use this waitlist to fill vacancies at these communities:

Applying to the waitlist does not guarantee selection. HACC anticipates 5,000+ applications for this list. Two to three weeks after the application period closes, a random lottery will be held and approximately 500 names will be drawn to be placed on the waitlist. Applicants will not be selected first come, first served – anyone who applies during the application period has an equal chance at being selected for the waitlist. Duplicate application information will be removed before the lottery process.

HACC will contact all applicants to let them know if they were selected through the lottery for the waitlist. Households will receive a letter, and will be able to log in to their Rent Café account to view their status.

This is the label that Rent Café uses when households were not selected through the random lottery assignment, or if there are old waitlists that a household was previously connected to.
