Barlow Trail Road landslide repair

Clackamas County closed Barlow Trail Road on Jan. 6, 2022 near Barlow Trail Road Bridge (milepost 1.65) because of a landslide.

Status

Preparing for construction

The closure is 200 feet west of Brightwood Bridge Road, between E Boulder Creek Ln and Brightwood Bridge Road. 

Why

To make the roadway safe for travelers by stabilizing the landslide and repairing the road.

Schedule

  • Design phase: Complete
  • Permit approval: Complete 
  • ODOT environmental review and approval: Complete 
  • Construction advertisement out to bid: Complete 
  • Construction: May 2024 - June 2024  

Traffic impacts

The road will remain closed until repairs are complete. Please continue using detour routes until that time.

Preparing for construction to start in May. 

Funding

  • Project estimate $1.65 million
  • Funding is provided from a Federal Highway Administration grant and matched with county road funds
