MEDAL OF VALOR
Our Medal of Valor is presented to members of the Sheriff's Office who distinguish themselves with acts of exceptional heroism. The act must involve an imminent risk to personal safety while attempting to prevent serious injury or loss of life. At the Sheriff’s discretion, the Medal of Valor may be awarded to an employee of another Law Enforcement Agency when their act of valor occurred while involved in operations with the Sheriff’s Office.

The Lifesaving Awards are given to Sheriff's Office employees who — fully aware of a life-threatening situation — act purposely to prevent death.
