CCSO Case #25-007520
Shortly after 12 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a trespass call at a residence in the 3300 block of SE Aldercrest Road in unincorporated Clackamas County. The caller reported that the house was vacant, and nobody was supposed to be there. The caller believed the person inside could be a relative, who was suspected of having a warrant out for his arrest.
When deputies arrived, they located a stolen 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe in front of the house. Deputies were able to identify the man inside as Taylor David Martello, age 38, of Portland. He had an active warrant for his arrest out of Washington state and was believed to be in violation of a restraining order. Deputies attempted to convince Martello to exit the residence, but he refused.
Shortly after 2 p.m., the Clackamas County Interagency SWAT and Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT) were called in to help safely contain the situation.
During the standoff, a member of CNT from the Oregon City Police Department was able to successfully negotiate Martello’s surrender. Martello was safely taken into custody at around 4:45 p.m. No one was injured during this incident.
Martello was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on charges of Violation of Restraining Order, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and Criminal Trespass in the First Degree, along with the warrant from the State of Washington (for escape from community custody, assault in the second degree, and strangulation charges).
