Sheriff’s Office investigates fatal motorcycle crash on Springwater Road

On Friday, April 4th, at approximately 5:07 p.m., Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an injury crash in the 24000 block of S Springwater Road in unincorporated Clackamas County. Initial reports indicated two people riding a motorcycle had struck a vehicle.

Deputies arrived on scene and determined the motorcycle, a 2022 Harley Davidson cruiser, struck a 2024 Toyota Camry as the Camry was turning into a driveway.

The motorcycle operator, identified as Brent Bjorkman, age 64 of Oregon City, and his passenger both sustained critical injuries. A deputy immediately began lifesaving efforts on Bjorkman, but he died at the scene. The passenger was transported to a Portland area hospital.

The driver of the Camry remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. He was not seriously injured. 

The Sheriff’s Office inter-agency Criminal Reconstruction and Forensic Technicians (CRAFT) team responded to the scene to continue the investigation. Deputies were assisted by Estacada Fire, American Medical Response, the Lake Oswego Police Department, the Milwaukie Police Department, and the Clackamas County Medical Examiner’s Office.
