On Thursday, April 3, 2025, the Wilsonville Police Department, in partnership with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, led a retail crime mission focusing on multiple retailers in the City of Wilsonville.
During the 10-hour operation, law enforcement contacted individuals suspected of theft and other crimes as they exited stores. The mission led to 19 arrests on a range of charges, the recovery of 148 stolen items valued at approximately $2,600, and the clearance of five outstanding arrest warrants.
One of the arrests led to the development of information regarding an online fencing operation, which will be further investigated.
A Sheriff’s Office Property & Evidence Technician played an important role in cataloging and processing recovered items of evidence.
Thursday’s mission was funded in part by the Organized Retail Theft (ORT) Grant Program, created by Oregon Senate Bill 900 (2023) and administered by the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office was awarded funds for FY2024-25, which helps fund staffing and equipment for law enforcement missions and other efforts to combat organized retail theft and hold those offenders accountable.
Additional missions are planned in the future.
Three Clackamas County cities -- Happy Valley, Estacada and Wilsonville -- contract with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office to provide municipal police services.
