On February 28, 2025, at approximately 9:50 p.m., the Wilsonville Police Department, in partnership with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a domestic disturbance call involving a weapon at the Terrene at the Grove apartment complex on SW Parkway Avenue in the City of Wilsonville.
Deputies located a woman who reported being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend in her apartment with a hammer. The victim reported the suspect, identified as Steven Michael Hir, age 41 from Scappoose, broke into her apartment by smashing a rear door. He then attacked the victim with a hammer causing multiple injuries. The suspect then left the apartment with the hammer and the victim’s phone.
The victim was able to go to a neighbor’s apartment to call for help. She was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
On March 3, 2025, Steven Michael Hir was located and arrested in Portland in partnership with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Clackamas County Interagency Task Force (CCITF), and the U.S. Marshals Service. Hir was booked without bail into the Clackamas County Jail on charges of Assault in the Second Degree, Assault in the Fourth Degree, Strangulation, Burglary in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing, and Harassment.
