The National Commission on Correctional Health Care has awarded the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Jail a third certification, this time for Mental Health Services. The Sheriff’s Office’s Jail is the first jail facility in Oregon to earn the Mental Health Services Accreditation from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.
The accreditation process for Mental Health Services involves an in-depth evaluation by experienced physicians and experts in correctional mental health care. The assessment focused on critical areas such as governance, patient care, mental health promotion, and special mental health services.
This latest accreditation adds to the jail’s other two accreditations from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care:
- 2021: The National Commission on Correctional Health Care accredited the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Jail’s Opioid Treatment Program.
- 2020: The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Jail earned full accreditation from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care for achieving the National Commission on Correctional Health Care’s Standards for Health Services in Jails.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office operates the only jail facility in Oregon to earn all three National Commission on Correctional Health Care Accreditations.
