CCSO Case #24-023093
At approximately 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024, Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a serious traffic crash involving two vehicles in the 15000 block of South Springwater Rd. This is in unincorporated Clackamas County, south of the Carver area.
When deputies arrived, they found a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser that appeared to be involved in a head-on crash. Both vehicles had severe front-end damage.
The driver of the PT Cruiser, 22-year-old Ryan Edward Bloomster, of Estacada, died in the crash. A 22-year-old female passenger was provided life-saving measures by deputies until medical personnel arrived and transported her to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Dodge pickup, 51-year-old Paul Anthony Dunn, of Happy Valley, and a 12-year-old female passenger were both transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office inter-agency Criminal Reconstruction and Forensic Technicians (CRAFT) team responded to the location and is working to determine the cause of the crash and whether impairment or speed were factors. At this time, investigators believe Bloomster may have failed to negotiate a curve.
The crash remains under investigation.
