Sheriff’s Office arrests suspect in Clackamas homicide; second suspect facing charges

On October 3, 2024, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office detectives learned Tristan Salvadore Thomas, age 43 of Clackamas, died from injuries sustained during an assault that occurred on September 21, 2024, at the Twin Creek Apartments on SE Sunnyside Rd. in Clackamas.

On September 21st, Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived to find Thomas in the parking lot shortly before 11:30 p.m. suffering from multiple stab wounds. Deputies rushed to provide lifesaving medical aid until an ambulance arrived and transported him to a local hospital.

Investigators believe Chad Michael Westover, age 52 of Oregon City, stabbed Thomas during an altercation. Westover was arrested on first-degree assault charges on September 26th and was released from custody on September 28th after posting $75,000.

On Friday, October 4, 2024, Westover was taken back into custody at the Clackamas County Courthouse and is being held without bail in the Clackamas County Jail on charges of second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and tampering with physical evidence.

On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, Samantha S. Christensen, age 48 of Happy Valley, turned herself into the Clackamas County Jail on charges of first-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence, hindering prosecution and interference with making a report. Christensen is being held on $250,000 bail for her role in the incident.
