Shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024, Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a serious traffic crash in the 16000 block of South Clackamas River Drive. This is in unincorporated Clackamas County, near Oregon City.
When deputies arrived, they found two vehicles, a 2016 Lexus IS and a 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck that appeared to have been involved in a head-on crash.
The driver of the truck, 39-year-old Jason Christopher Belisle of Vancouver, WA died in the crash. The driver of the Lexus, 20-year-old Nathan Bejan of Happy Valley, and a 17-year-old passenger were both treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office inter-agency Criminal Reconstruction and Forensic Technicians (CRAFT) team responded to the location and are working to determine the cause of the crash and whether impairment was a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
