On Thursday, August 22, 2024, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office led a small-scale retail crime mission focusing on the Oak Grove Fred Meyer.

The ten-hour shoplifting detail included Sheriff’s Office Patrol deputies and detectives working alongside the Oregon Department of Justice and Fred Meyer loss-prevention personnel.

During the operation, law enforcement contacted retail theft suspects as they exited the Fred Meyer at 14700 SE McLoughlin Blvd. in Oak Grove.

The mission led to 10 custodies (9 adults & 1 juvenile) on multiple charges, as well as the recovery of more than $500 worth of merchandise. Additionally, four arrest warrants were cleared.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office has been regularly partnering with local businesses to combat retail theft with similar missions since 2022. Additional missions around Clackamas County are planned in the future.
