On Thursday, August 24, 2023, at approximately 8:11 p.m., Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a serious crash on S Redland Rd, near S Anderson Rd, outside of Oregon City. Upon arrival, deputies determined the vehicles involved were a Ford F-150 with a single occupant and a Toyota Corolla with two occupants.
Two adult females were inside the Corolla. The driver was deceased and the passenger was seriously injured. The passenger was transported to a local hospital.
Deputies conducted field sobriety tests on the driver of the F-150, a 39-year-old man from Oregon City, and determined he was intoxicated.
The driver was taken to the Clackamas County Jail and booked on charges of DUII – Alcohol, Assault in the third degree, and Manslaughter in the second degree.
The Sheriff’s Office inter-agency Criminal Reconstruction and Forensic Technicians (CRAFT) team is investigation the incident. The case is being referred to the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
