One man is in custody facing multiple charges following a Monday-afternoon drive-by shooting near Milwaukie.
Shortly after 3 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a reported shooting on the 6800 block of SE Lamphier St. near Milwaukie.
The suspect -- identified as Jayson Paul Lacroix, 50, of Clackamas -- reportedly drove to the shooting scene in a black Mitsubishi sedan, then fired multiple gunshots from his sedan toward a victim who was standing between two parked vehicles in front of a residence on SE Lamphier Street. Lacroix then reportedly left the scene in the Mitsubishi.
The victim was uninjured. Jayson Lacroix and the victim are reportedly known to one another.
Deputies located the suspect vehicle, a Mitsubishi Lancer registered to Lacroix, parked at an apartment complex on SE 97th Avenue in Clackamas. Deputies then contacted and arrested Lacroix after he was spotted attempting to leave the scene in a blue sedan. A photo from the arrest scene is linked above.
Detectives and CSI personnel responded to the area to interview witnesses, canvas the area and collect and document evidence; authorities found multiple bullet strikes on a vehicle the victim reportedly dove behind during the shooting.
Following an interview with detectives, Jayson Paul Lacroix was transported to the Clackamas County Jail, where he is currently being held without bail on charges including Attempted Assault (First Degree), Menacing, and two counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
