Board of Health

Clackamas County serves as the Local Public Health Authority for the entire county, with the Board of County Commissioners acting as the governing body.

In that role, the Board of Commissioners:

  • Sets public health policies and goals within the Local Public Health Authority area
  • Monitors the progress of achieving statewide and local public health goals
  • Adopts rules and ordinances to carry out the duties of the Local Public Health Authority, as long as they are not in conflict with or less strict than State rules and laws.
