Clackamas County will close S. Eldorado Road at the southern junction with Highway 213 near Mulino from 7 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22 through 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31 for the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to perform landslide repairs.

The road will be closed 24/7 during the work period to all traffic, including local traffic and emergency vehicles. Road closure and detour signs will be posted. Travelers are asked to slow down and use caution near the work zone. Project updates will be posted at www.bit.ly/roadClosures.

ODOT will repair the pavement on Highway 213 between S. Glenn Drive and S. Freeman Road, including the S. Eldorado Road intersection, to its preexisting condition before movement occurred. Work could take up to three months to complete. Traffic will be directed by flaggers or a temporary signal 24/7. Once repairs are complete, all lane closures will be removed. Project updates for Highway 213 will be posted at www.bit.ly/2xc4Lvo.

In March 2017, cracks were observed in the pavement on Highway 213 near S Eldorado Road. Initial repairs were made to strengthen the roadway in October 2017. ODOT installed 40 drains below the highway to remove water from the landslide area in January 2018. ODOT also installed instruments to measure movement of the road; no significant movement has been detected since March 2018. ODOT and Clackamas County will continue to monitor the area for additional activity.
