UPDATE (May 9, 2024): Detectives arrest second suspect in April 29 shooting

On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested a second person related to the April 29th shooting of Nathan Dean Anderson.

During the investigation, detectives determined that Dominique Marie Britt, 26 of Milwaukie, was involved in the homicide. Detectives believe Britt knew both the victim and the other suspect, Cody James Denewith. Britt was arrested Wednesday morning and lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

The case remains under investigation.

EARLIER (May 7, 2024): Sheriff’s Office arrests suspect in April 29 shooting

On Monday, May 6, 2024, Cody James Denewith, 26 of Milwaukie, was arrested in connection to an April 29, 2024, shooting and lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

A week earlier, Monday, April 29, 2024, at around 5:30 p.m., Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to reports of a shooting in the area of SE 90th Avenue and SE St. Helens Street in unincorporated Clackamas County. Deputies arrived and located a man, later identified as Nathan Dean Anderson, 25 of Oregon City, with an apparent gunshot wound. Mr. Anderson was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died.

Detectives were able to determine that Mr. Anderson and the suspect knew each other, leading to the identification of Denewith as a suspect.
