Hire Oregon Veterans Program Overview

The program is designed to provide comprehensive, customized employment assistance. 

You must have at least one day of active duty for other than training purposes to be eligible for our services, and discharged or released from such service under conditions other than dishonorable to be eligible for our services.

Participants must be at least one of the following:

• Recently separated (within 48 months of release of discharge)
• Have a service-connected disability
• Served on active duty in the armed forces during a war or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized
• Have significant barriers to employment

Veterans enrolled in the Hire Oregon Veterans Program are eligible for the following services:

1. Assessment of skills, training and experience.
2. Individual career and vocational counseling.
3. Development of a customized employment plan.
4. Funds for short-term training and employment related supports needed to get employed.
5. Customized job search assistance.
6. Support with retaining employment.
7. Help accessing other Veterans services and benefits.
